SWOT Analysis: Learn to Conduct and Facilitate
9/30/2020 - 10/1/2020
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Event Description
This virtual workshop is a TWO-PART workshop being held on Wednesday, September 30th, and Thursday, October 1st, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. You will be registered for both parts - $58 for members; $118 non-members. Registrants will receive a separate Zoom link for each part one day prior to the workshop.

SWOT Analysis is a powerful tool, but like all decision support techniques it can be challenging to master. This workshop is designed to teach participants how to conduct a decision support grade SWOT analysis, with many aspects that apply to planning in general. Since SWOT analysis often requires group input, the workshop will also share strategies from organizational behavior that are used for consulting so that participants gain confidence in facilitating the technique with others. This workshop will provide the knowledge, tools, and resources you need to SWOT like a boss.

Participants in this workshop will:
1.) Learn how to conduct a SWOT analysis correctly.
2.) Become aware of common tips and pitfalls when facilitating a SWOT analysis with colleagues, drawing from knowledge about team dynamics and motivation.
3.) Explore the role an IR/IE/Planning office can play in providing evidence for decision making.

This workshop is designed for practitioners of all levels whose work includes decision support and strategic planning. It is assumed that IR professionals who participate are familiar with common topics of interest in higher education. Those with any level of experience with SWOT analysis or similar techniques are welcome.
