Much of the data-related work in institutional research involves data manipulation, data visualization, and repeated reporting. R, a free and open-source programming language, handles all of these tasks with ease and allows you to streamline and automate your entire project. R can help develop a robust data infrastructure by codifying everything from common presentation graphics to reporting requirements and definitions. No previous experience with R is necessary for this workshop, which will introduce R's capabilities and demonstrate how it can be used to create reproducible workflows for common institutional research tasks, such as preparing submissions for federal and consortial reporting.
