Job Details
This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Institutional Research to produce and file all federal, state and institutional reports (e.g., PDE, IPEDS, NSSE) and surveys (e.g., College Board, Princeton Review, Peterson’s, US News & World Reports). They will utilize statistical and analytical methods, investigate complex issues, identify and solve problems, and support informed decision-making across the college. They are responsible for writing and validating simple and complex queries using SQL for the successful extraction of data from source systems to support requests and reporting. Position requires the use of specialized computer software, such as databases and data visualization applications.

Job Duties:
  • Conduct audits of existing datasets in collaboration with various college offices (e.g., Admissions, Registration & Records, Human Resources, and others) to ensure the highest level of data integrity.
  • Write and execute computer queries to retrieve information from the college database system.
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical calculations.
  • Assist with administration of external surveys such as NSSE, FSSE, and BCSSE, as they are identified in collaboration with campus leadership and the Director of Institutional Research.
  • Track external reporting requirements and compile all necessary data for federal and state agencies, including IPEDS and the PA Department of Education. Ensure the accurate submission of institutional data for the completion of other external surveys including College Board, Princeton Review, Peterson’s, US News & World Reports.
  • Develop and manage advanced reporting analytics by writing, reading, and maintaining SQL code.
  • Provide data to internal audiences, including the Board of Trustees, through standard institutional reports, data visualizations, dashboards, advanced reporting analytics, and other methods as appropriate.
  • Create, administer, monitor, maintain, and secure the college data visualizations using knowledge of relational databases and visualization applications (e.g. Tableau or PowerBI)
  • Support accreditation of the institution as well as specialized accreditation of programs.
  • Assist in the daily operation of the Office of Institutional Research in the absence of the Director.
  • Support the collection of data and development of reports related to institutional effectiveness.
  • Provide, guide, and monitor student internships and capstone projects, as time permits.
  • Assist with maintenance of the Institutional Research web site or similar resource.
  • Assist with other institutional research duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, coupled with related coursework in any of the following:
  • Computer programming, statistical package programming, or data analytics programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite tools
  • 1-3 years of related experience; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of required qualifications.
