Carlow University invites applications for the full-time position Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation. This position works directly with faculty, staff, and administrators to sustain a culture of inquiry to best serve students and improve practice. The Assistant Director of Assessment and Accreditation will monitor and facilitate the development and tracking of student learning outcomes and will support program and regional accreditation processes and reporting. This position will also provide training and support to faculty and staff to enable a meaningful and active process of setting, measuring, and assessing learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness. This is a three-year position. Continued employment is contingent on university needs. Responsibilities: - Provides leadership and encouragement in a collegial manner to faculty/staff/administrators on the nature and value of assessment. - Trains and supports faculty and staff to enable them to create and assess student learning outcomes and use assessment results for planning and improvement. - Assists with creating, updating, and maintaining assessment plans and procedures and works with faculty and staff to facilitate understanding and compliance. - Monitors external and internal surveys relating to student outcomes and institutional effectiveness. Responsible for the training and use of assessment tracking software. (e.g. Nuventive Improve, SmartEvals). - Contributes substantially to self-study efforts and reporting for accreditation. - Creatively communicates assessment results to increase understanding and use through reports, visualizations, and presentations. - Demonstrates and reflects understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of Carlow University and the Sisters of Mercy. We seek an individual the following qualifications: - Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent work experience preferred. - Ability to guide and inspire others to effectively learn and use assessment and evaluation processes. - Experience contributing to a regional accreditation self-study process. . - Skills in communicating research or assessment results clearly and creatively. - Demonstrated ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to produce reports. - Demonstrated ability preparing and delivering presentations and training workshops, and capacity to inspire and motivate others to learn and succeed. - Openness to diverse points of view and willingness to continually learn and improve. - Organization and project management skills.
