Under the direct supervision of the associate director of institutional research and assessment, the survey project manager and data analyst manages key survey projects for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA), as well as cleaning, analyzing, and reporting on survey results and institutional data. This role contributes to several recurring OIRA research projects and accreditation reporting, including Berklee compliance reports (IPEDS, Common Data Set, the Factbook).

Job Details

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in data or research related field.

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience working with research, data analysis, and/or project management. 

  • Fluent in English.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and Accreditation

  • Managing institutional survey research projects, such as student satisfaction and engagement surveys, campus climate surveys, staff surveys, and alumni surveys.

  • Creating, editing, and reporting results from internal surveys, and crafting engaging infographics for reports.

  • Collecting, cleaning, merging, and managing data from multiple sources.

  • Supporting completion of annual reports to outside agencies, including IPEDS and surveys sponsored by news and education organizations (US News, Peterson’s, Princeton Review, etc.)

  • Assisting with research and evaluation projects, including, but not limited to, compliance reports and a variety of internal research requests. 

  • Managing content on the Institutional Research and Assessment page on Berklee.edu

  • Hiring, training, and managing student workers to assist with OIRA projects, such as administering the graduating exit survey. 

  • Assisting with coordination for Institutional Review Board (IRB) meetings, accreditation visits, and other office events.

 

Course Evaluation Survey Management

  • Prepare, administer, and manage student end of semester course evaluation surveys.  

  • Act as the primary point of contact for answering course survey questions from faculty, department chairs, and students.

  • Develop, and continually update, Berklee specific guidebooks and printed materials for faculty and department administrators on how to use the Course Evaluation system (Watermark) and interpret the results.

  • Present course survey information to faculty and staff through printed materials and possibly at campus events such as new faculty orientation.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, survey software (such as Qualtrics), and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with necessary discretion to work with confidential information.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet predetermined deadlines.

  • Ability to join data from various databases and systems into workable data sets.
