Job description: Reporting to the Director of Assessment and working collaboratively as a member Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness (IRPE), the Junior Assessment Analyst supports a program of academic and administrative assessment at the university. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting assessment activities by developing and advancing dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence and visualization software to communicate data in an intuitive and readily accessible fashion for decision makers across the university. The Junior Assessment Analyst will: • Support the development and distribution of feedback provided to departments in response to the annual Student Learning Objective (SLO) reports submitted by each academic department in partial fulfillment of our institutional assessment plan. • Assist assessment reporting by developing custom reports and interactive data visualizations using large data sets from different sources and transform data into actionable insights; work with departments to interpret and apply results. • Assist evaluation efforts and document results/research of external and internal studies related to areas of institutional interest and conduct presentations of findings to faculty and administrative leadership. • Participate in shepherding the academic program and administrative review process, including research and analysis pertinent to the review process. • Become familiar with the office's major data and information systems and participate in the design and execution of analytic studies, as needed, to support planning and decision-making across the university. • Participate in development and maintenance of surveys and university survey processes as directed, including supporting faculty, staff, and students' adherence to university protocols. • Support ad hoc assessment and reporting requests in support of continuous improvement and accreditation reporting. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education or a relevant quantitative discipline OR a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of statistical, analytical, and assessment experience. At least one year of experience, which may have been gained through university coursework, producing dashboards and interactive visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics, Qlik, or similar software. Ability and willingness to learn SPSS, 'R', Stata or other relevant statistical analysis software. Excellent analytic and writing skills. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis and interpretation of data from a variety of sources, including Slate, Oracle BI/Analytics, PeopleSoft, and Lightcast.
- Create statistical analyses that help project enrollment and application activity to inform annual planning and goal setting, and guide admissions recruitment efforts.
- Create weekly and monthly reports using BI and Slate reporting tools.
- Create data visualizations to illustrate patterns and trends in data.
- Write queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Prepare related reports and summaries as needed.
- Use extant admissions and enrollment data, as well as external market data to provide information and guidance to leadership in projecting program demand.
- Use data to develop enrollment targets in conjunction with academic departments.
- Integrate graduating graduate admissions data into the University's Business Intelligence platform and promote its use campus-wide.
- Provide data for grant writing.
- Assist with other data and information management projects as needed.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- High level of attention to detail and time management skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in statistics, analytics, data science, economics or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Three or more years of experience in statistical analysis.
- Directly related and progressively responsible work experience accessing, managing and analyzing data using different database file formats
- Experience with statistical software and databases (e.g. SPSS, R, SAS)
- Ability to summarize data and research into coherent reports for utilization in decision making
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

- Knowledge of business intelligence solutions
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Professional Rank and Salary Grade: SL-3, $65,000-$72,000
