Event Description
Institutional researchers and higher education data professionals play a critical role in supporting data-informed decision-making, yet the increasing demands of our work can lead to stress, burnout, and work-life imbalance. This interactive 90-minute workshop is designed for professionals at all levels and offers practical strategies for balancing professional responsibilities with personal wellbeing while also advocating for the support and resources needed to sustain our work.

During this FREE Guiding Light, we’ll explore:
  • Self-care techniques tailored to IR and data professionals.
  • Workload management and boundary-setting strategies to maintain balance.
  • Approaches for advocating for resources and institutional support, even within institutional constraints.
The session will be highly interactive, using Mentimeter to facilitate engagement throughout. There are no major technology requirements—just access to Zoom and a willingness to participate!

Presenter: Karen Egypt, University of Maryland
