This presentation aims to enlighten Institutional Research professionals in higher education about the transformative potential of the R programming language (specifically using the free/open-source IDE, RStudio Desktop).I will demonstrate how R can be leveraged to enhance and streamline typical institutional research responsibilities.The session will begin with an introduction to R, highlighting its powerful data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization capabilities. It will then delve into specific use-cases within the realm of institutional research, such as exploratory data analysis, reporting, and survey data analysis. Participants will gain insights into how R can automate repetitive tasks, handle large datasets with ease, and produce compelling data visualizations. The webinar will also showcase how R’s extensive package ecosystem can be utilized to perform complex analyses with minimal coding. By the end of the webinar, participants will have a clearer understanding of how R can lead to more efficient processes and richer insights. Attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and resources to start or enhance their journey with R in their respective institutions.
