Spotlight on University Financial Statements - Part One
6/14/2021
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Event Description
As we move into a new normal, collecting and analyzing institutional and financial data will be even more essential to create or adjust future strategic plans.  The University is always evaluating its financial history and deliberating a sustainable way forward. Understanding the university’s financial statements and merging that knowledge with your institutional research skills will make you more valuable to your management team.

Part One of our financial boot camp series will include an in-depth review of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement as well as the explanatory notes provided by the audit and ratios frequently used to analyze financial performance.  Participants are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with their institutions FY19 and FY20 financial statements, which should be available on their institution's website.

Part Two is for practitioners who have a solid financial background or have taken Part I.  Part Two will also explore resource and budget planning issues and provide you with an understanding of the other financial components used to create the final multi-year plan.  Please note:  Part Two requires a separate registration.

Software Requirements:  None

Presenter:  Marianne Cwalina, former Senior Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Brandeis University
