Forecasting assists institutional leadership in providing enrollment and revenue models for our institutions, many of which are facing uncertainty and financial stress because of the pandemic.  Using Tableau, our skilled veteran presenter, Craig W. Abbey, University of Buffalo, will present several enrollment forecasting and modeling techniques. By utilizing a cohort-based technique and advanced methods including table calculations and parameters, participants will create tools to model enrollment, tuition revenue and class demand – crucial information being asked for by our administrations.

While building three Tableau modeling tools in this workshop, participants will learn how to:

• To join and pivot data
• Use IF and CASE statements in calculated fields
• Employ parameters in calculations
• Color data for readability
• Filter and create calculations across data sources   

To assess competency, practitioners must be comfortable connecting to data, producing basic visualizations and creating calculated fields.  Need to brush up on Tableau skills, take Craig Abbey's Intermediate Tableau workshop.
