Brief Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Analytics & Reporting, the Senior Business & Research Analyst is responsible for leading and maintaining the business intelligence operations for the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness Office. The Senior Business & Research Analyst will manage the design, and development, and maintenance of data warehouses and data models. This position will use the College’s enterprise business intelligence tools, SQL, SPSS, the Microsoft software suite, as well as other appropriate tools to carry out these functions. The Senior Business & Research Analyst will work closely with college stakeholders to understand complex business and informational needs and translate those needs into reports, and analyses.

  • Create and Maintain data models that simplify reporting and support front-end business intelligence reporting tools. 
  • Create, Organize, and Manage data warehouse documentation. 
  • Manage the overall architecture, design, and development of the data warehouse. · Support, Design Implement, and Modify data modeling processes as required to the support data warehouse. 
  •  Coordinate with subject matter experts to determine data modeling and transform process requirements. 
  • Assist with data integrity issues between various integrated systems. · Design, Develop, and Test complex reports, extracts, and interpretations of data utilizing the college’s business intelligence system. Perform merges, modifications, and edits to data files as needed for analysis. 
  • Train and Assist college faculty and staff on the use of the business intelligence system and appropriate data usage. 
  • Prepare visual displays of data 
  • Provide Consultation to college faculty and staff on the appropriate usage of data to assess outcomes. 
  • Interpret data for a broad range of stakeholders. 
  •  Prepare and Write reports based upon findings from research projects. 
  • Validate data extracted from the college’s data systems. 
  •  Design, Maintain, and Modify interactive dashboards. Leadership · Serve as a secondary point of contact regarding the college’s data and reporting. · Coordinate assistance with data requests and reports. 
  • Coordinate with staff working jointly on projects in the areas of data collection, reporting, and tracking methodology. 
  • Supervise and evaluate  appropriate staff (if applicable). Other 
  • Comply with all required college mandated training within the prescribed timelines. 
  •  Perform all other related duties as assigned.
