In addition to the general duties, the Director will:
•Design and oversee research efforts with an institutional scope and assists departments and offices with focused research needs.
•Create and conduct a research program of longitudinal studies, survey research, outcomes assessment and other policy studies as needed.
•Develop institutional research data systems, workflows, and other resources.
•Maintain standard management information and official statistics for internal and external reporting and surveys.
•Collaborate across academic and student affairs to support student success initiatives.
•Prepare and interpret analytic reports, research findings, and their implications.
•Supervise research staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS required and at least eight (8) years of appropriate experience in the area in which his/her responsibility will lie.
Expertise in statistical techniques from descriptive to multivariate; thorough understanding of research methods: expertise in using R and/or SPSS for creation and manipulation of large datasets, proficiency in Tableau, working with complex file structures and data analysis); ability to work independently and learn quickly; excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills; graduate degree in a relevant analytic or social science discipline (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Sociology) is desirable. Familiarity with CUNY databases and IR functions is desirable. Familiarity with campus-wide student success initiatives is desirable.
