Job Details

DIRECTOR OF RESEARCHConsortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), to manage the COFHE research program and oversee the development of its research agenda, including the identification of emerging topics of interest to member campuses and to higher education generally.  Will also maintain and review the Consortium’s standards for research policy and practice.  Responsibilities will include reviewing and developing COFHE research policies, designing and executing major research projects, including final report preparation; contributing to the planned development and appropriate uses of research and data storage technology in the COFHE offices; collaborating with other senior staff on developing the general COFHE research agenda and policies, planning and leading meetings with constituencies, serving as a resource to personnel in the COFHE institutions, interacting with educational researchers outside of COFHE, and representing COFHE at national/regional meetings; and serving as liaison to the Research Advisory Committee. 

 

Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  master’s degree; at least seven years’ experience analyzing and synthesizing large, complex datasets from various sources and producing informative, highly readable reports; excellent analytical and research skills; background in social sciences or the economics of higher education; broad knowledge of and interest in key policy issues important to the COFHE sector and those facing higher education generally; demonstrated statistical analysis skills and experience designing/managing large-scale projects requiring social science expertise; strong group facilitation, decision-making, and oral and written (including technical writing) communication and presentation skills; ability to work independently and in collaboration with other researchers; excellent judgment; ability provide advice regarding research methods, practices, and the presentation of results.  PREFERRED:  Ph.D. and survey research experience and expertise in survey research methods.  Job #19567-11
