SYSTEMS ANALYSTConsortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), to support COFHE’s core research activities--collecting, testing, validating, securing and distributing data on admissions, financial aid, student outcomes, faculty demographics and student enrollments to aid member campus decision-making.  Will design, build, and maintain research data systems used to support the COFHE’s mission.  These systems are fed by ongoing collections from member schools; public data sources; and student, parent, and alumni surveys.  Incoming data are validated, warehoused, and pushed out to an array of data delivery platforms for use by authorized campus groups.  Responsibilities include supporting COFHE’s data operations, including data modeling, database development, and building ETL processes; improving and maintaining core Python programs used in support of COFHE’s data and administrative operations; maintaining one or more of COFHE’s core systems; working with the entire research team to monitor and improve the quality of data management and security procedures; managing user credentialing and access in COFHE’s data delivery platforms and providing technical support to users; developing and updating procedures and documentation; and assisting with managing COFHE’s desktop computing. 

 

Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  a bachelor’s degree; at least two years of relevant experience analyzing and modeling large complex data sets and creating informative reports and dashboards; proficiency with a scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby),  SQL, and a CMS (e.g., Drupal, SharePoint); excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills; project management experience and skills; team-orientation; the ability to meet high standards for detail, initiate and manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines, and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  PREFERRED:  a master’s degree and work experience in higher education.  Job #19580-7
