Overview
In conjunction with the Executive Director of Institutional Research, provide leadership for the decision support and survey research functions of the University's Office of Institutional Research; work with senior Institutional Research administration to respond to ad hoc data needs; using survey design skills to design surveys; using analytical skills to produce internal reports; research on areas of institutional priority. Share the work of the Institutional Research Office with the wider community in both written and oral formats, making presentations as appropriate. Will interact with members of the University at various levels, including Directors, Deans, and Vice Provosts. The focus for this position will be on survey research and reporting, but the incumbent may also assist with areas outside the survey research and reporting arena.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in policy, economics, business, education, sociology, statistics, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree or Doctoral degree in higher education, statistics, policy, economics, business, sociology, or a related field
Required Experience:
5+ years years experience in research design, survey design, data collection and retrieval, statistical analysis and reporting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience with survey design, data collection, and reporting in higher education, and particularly in institutional research. Familiarity with Human Subjects Institutional Review Boards research policies.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with desktop office suite, survey administration software, and ad hoc reporting tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to present complex information to senior administrators in a non-technical manner.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with Qualtrics; Tableau; MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); R; SPSS, Brio; SQL.
