Job Details
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with college administrators in establishing benchmarks, key performance indicators, score cards, dashboards, and other metrics and performance measure;
  • Analyze complex data sets using research methods, quantitative and qualitative analyses and statistical techniques;
  • Conduct longitudinal analyses for various areas throughout the institution using quantitative and qualitative data;
  • Administer a coordinated program of survey research, including the senior, alumni, and freshmen surveys annually and other ad hoc survey projects (e.g. campus climate);
  • Provide consultative services for survey design and planning efforts on campus;
  • Based off survey results, design reports and dashboards to provide meaningful data with clear analysis in support of data-driven decision-making at an institutional level;
  • Assist the Assistant Provost with improving student success, tracking/evaluating impact of college success initiatives and working with faculty to provide direction/leadership in statistical analysis of results and dissemination of results;
  • Assist in the data collection and analysis for annual projects including University Facts, academic program review, Student Right to Know (SRTK) analysis and other website based projects;
  • Support the Assistant Provost of Institutional Effectiveness in representing the office on various campus committees and by providing survey research and planning support to other offices as required;
  • Additional duties as assigned.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
 
Experience:
  • 1-2 years experience working in higher education, specifically assessment or institutional research preferred;
  • Experience in developing and administering survey research initiatives such as course evaluations, focus groups, interviews, and online surveys;
  • Knowledge of survey best practices and software such as Qualtrics;
  • Experience with data visualization and producing interactive dashboards (e.g. Tableau);
  • Experience with higher education accreditation processes highly desirable.
 
Qualifications:
  • High proficiency in ability to conduct statistical analysis required;
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials ;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with little or no supervision;
  • Ability to make decisions supporting the department’s mission and goals;
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality;
  • Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written;
  • Must have interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse organization;
  • Possess excellent computer skills and experience; application software skills such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, E-mail, etc.; organizational skills; attention to detail; proficiency in filing and general clerical functions; self-motivated; ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently;
  • Must have a high level of confidentiality.
 
Physical Demands:
 
Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.
 
Working Conditions:
 
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend work.  Travel for administrative work is expected.  The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
